Proper procedure of cleansing wounds

Just yesterday, I encountered a patient who met with a car accident, fell from the motorbike. YOU --- are lucky to be alive alright. Riding motorbikes is sooo dangerous, everybody please stay away from riding them. Anyway, I have finally learned how to do wound dressing properly!

Step 1: Wear a pair of sterile gloves that fits the right size.

Step 2: Prepare some antiseptic solution (or normal saline) and soak the sterile cotton swabs in it.

Step 3: Use a forcep to pick up the wet cotton swabs, start cleaning the wounds.

Step 4: Some sterile gauze to dry the wounds.

Step 5: Dip cotton buds in Acriflavine lotion (also called yellow lotion), and apply over the wounds.

Step 6: Remove the 2 pieces of plastics of Urgotuls S.S.D.
Step 7: Place the Urgotuls S.S.D over the wounds.
Step 8: Non-stick gauze and use adhesive tapes to secure.
Step 9: Protect and secure the dressing with a 3-inch crepe bandage only tight enough to sustain the pressure but not too much to impair the circulation.

Ta-dah! Done.
